Infection Connection

Diagram of diseases infecting a person

When you think of an “infection,” what comes to mind? Most of us assume that an infection occurs when “germs” from outside infect a wound or get into the body where they cause a substantial amount of unpleasant symptoms. In reality, infections are more an issue of microbial balance. When your microbes are imbalanced, dysbiosis occurs, resulting in many health problems. In fact, infections could be related to the pain in your shoulder or autoimmune diseases.

Dysbiosis:  an imbalance between good microbes and bad ones that causes or contributes to disease. Microbes of low intrinsic virulence, meaning they won’t make you incredibly physically ill, can still affect your body in a negative way. These microbes start disease by altering the nutritional, neuroendocrine, and/or immunologic responses of a person.

In Simple Terms: The presence of large numbers of unhealthy microbes (bacteria, fungi, parasites, viruses, etc.) causes disease and dysfunction. Because these microbes can produce significant inflammation, various toxic chemicals, and overall stress, they can be linked to virtually any problem. This is why the list of dysbiotic symptoms covers so much ground.

Major Symptoms of Dybiosis:

  • Fatigue
  • Poor memory
  • Feeling “spacey” or experiencing brain fog
  • Inflammation
  • Irritability, moodiness, depression
  • Food sensitivities
  • Constipation or diarrhea
  • Chronic subluxations  (misalignments of the vertebrae resulting in neck and lower back pain)
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Insomnia
  • Inability to handle stress
  • Headaches, sinusitis
  • Abdominal pain, bloating
  • Obesity or inability to lose weight
  • Prostatitis (inflammation and swelling of the prostate gland)
  • PMS
  • Chronic rashes
  • Recurrent injuries
  • Chemical sensitivities

As you can see, dysbiosis influences nearly every body system.  Removing microbes from the body can dramatically improve health.
