Allergies and Asthma

Are your allergies and asthma affecting your daily life? TrueHealth NC can help! First, let’s discuss a little more about each.

Allergies

It is important to remember that allergies are hypersensitive. Your body is overreacting to substances creating histamines and inflammation. When that happens, our focus is then placed on finding the right antihistamine or anti-inflammatory.

Symptoms of Allergies:
  • Red, itchy, watery eyes
  • Stuffy/runny nose
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Hives/rashes on skin
  • Sneezing
  • Swelling of the mouth or throat

Asthma

Asthma is often associated with allergies, but allergies are not always the root cause of asthma. How well your adrenal glands are functioning has a major impact on asthma. Most medications enhance adrenal activity. Of course, there are natural ways to improve these glands. It is also important to determine why they aren’t performing at their highest level. Another major concern with asthma is inflammation.

Symptoms of Asthma
  • Coughing
  • Wheezing
  • Tightness of the chest
  • Shortness of breath
  • Difficulty breathing
Often, the cause of immune system overreaction is due to things that have gone unaddressed. Dr. Morgan’s assessment involves finding the “thing” that is making your immune system overreact. What we discover is that it can relate to one, or several, systems in the body.
