How We Help

Our Approach to Care at True Health NC in Cary, NC

True Health NC is not a conventional chiropractic office, and it is not a standard nutritional consulting practice. It is something different — a whole-body, root-cause clinical practice that combines the diagnostic precision of Applied Kinesiology with comprehensive holistic health assessment and structural restoration.

If you have been struggling with a chronic health condition and conventional approaches haven’t gotten to the bottom of it, this is the kind of practice that was built for you. With over 25 years of clinical experience, Dr. Brett Morgan works across three dimensions of health — structural, nutritional, and emotional — because lasting health requires all three to be functioning well.

Applied Kinesiology (AK)

Applied Kinesiology is the diagnostic foundation of everything we do at True Health NC. Developed by Dr. George Goodheart in the 1960s and refined over decades of clinical use, AK uses manual muscle testing as a window into the nervous system — revealing functional imbalances that standard testing often cannot detect.

The core insight of AK is that the body’s structural, nutritional, and neurological systems are deeply interconnected. A muscle that tests weak may be doing so because of a spinal misalignment, a nutritional deficiency, an organ stress, or an unresolved emotional pattern. AK allows us to differentiate between these causes quickly and accurately — and to test whether a proposed intervention actually produces a functional change in the body before recommending it.

This is a fundamentally different diagnostic model than checking labs and prescribing a protocol. AK is real-time, individualized, and direct — your body tells us what it needs, and we listen.

Holistic Nutritional Assessment

Nutritional imbalances are at the root of most chronic health conditions — and they are among the most commonly missed factors in conventional medicine. At True Health NC, nutritional assessment goes far beyond asking about diet. We use a systematic, 18-area health evaluation framework to identify functional deficiencies, dysregulated systems, and the order in which they need to be addressed.

This Foundation First methodology means we don’t jump straight to treating symptoms. We assess the foundational systems first — gut health, food sensitivities, toxic burden, and blood sugar regulation — because imbalances in these areas are almost always driving dysfunction further downstream. Addressing the foundation first is both more effective and more efficient than chasing symptoms one at a time.

Nutritional support is provided through professional-grade supplements from Standard Process, Supreme Nutrition, and Pure Encapsulations — chosen specifically for each patient’s pattern, not a generic protocol off the shelf.

Structural Care

Structural care at True Health NC is not traditional chiropractic. There are no isolated snap-and-crack adjustments targeting individual vertebrae in isolation. Instead, we work to correct structural dysfunction at the level of the whole body — because the spine does not exist or dysfunction independently of the rest of the body’s movement system.

The spine is a responder. When joints keep going back to the same dysfunctional position after being corrected, it is because the larger postural and movement patterns driving them there have not been addressed. True structural correction requires identifying and resolving those larger patterns — the hip imbalances, the breathing dysfunction, the postural compensations that have been building for years — not just repeatedly treating the site of pain.

Our structural approach integrates:

  • Applied Kinesiology structural assessment:  Identifying which muscles are inhibited, which joints are restricted, and which neurological patterns are driving dysfunction throughout the kinetic chain.
  • Egoscue Method:  A postural restoration system that uses specific positional exercises to correct the structural imbalances that cause chronic pain and movement dysfunction. Egoscue works with the body’s design — restoring proper alignment from the foundation up rather than forcing correction from the outside.
  • Original Strength:  A movement restoration system based on the developmental movement patterns humans are built on — rolling, rocking, crawling, and carrying. Rebuilding these foundational reflexive patterns restores the neurological foundation that supports all higher-level movement and structural integrity.

The result is structural care that holds — because the underlying patterns driving dysfunction have been addressed, not just the local site of pain.

Functional Lab Interpretation

Standard lab reference ranges are designed to identify disease — not dysfunction. They represent the statistical average of a population that includes a significant proportion of unhealthy people. As a result, a patient can fall well within “normal” ranges while experiencing significant functional impairment.

At True Health NC, we interpret lab work through functional ranges — tighter, optimal ranges that reflect how the body operates when it is genuinely healthy. This approach allows us to identify patterns of dysfunction years before they progress to diagnosable disease, and to target nutritional and lifestyle support precisely where it is needed.

This is particularly valuable in thyroid assessment, where our six-pattern analysis often identifies dysfunction that a standard TSH-only panel completely misses.

Conditions We Commonly Help With

Our whole-body approach is particularly effective for chronic, complex, and multi-system health conditions. Some of the most common presentations we work with include:

  • Brain fog and cognitive issues
  • Thyroid dysfunction — including Hashimoto’s and patterns missed by standard testing
  • Hormone imbalance in women — PMS, estrogen dominance, perimenopause, and menopause
  • Fatigue and adrenal health
  • Gut health and digestive issues
  • Anxiety, mood imbalances, and neurotransmitter dysfunction
  • Chronic pain — joint pain, back pain, and widespread body aches
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Autoimmune conditions
  • Lyme disease and co-infections
  • Inflammation and joint chemistry imbalances

Who This Practice Is For

True Health NC is for people who are done accepting “everything looks normal” as an answer when they clearly don’t feel normal. It is for people who have tried conventional approaches, may have tried some natural approaches, and still haven’t found the root cause of what is holding their health back.

It is for people who are willing to do the work — because getting to the root of a chronic health condition requires more than taking a supplement. It requires understanding how your body’s systems interact, addressing them in the right order, and making the foundational changes that allow real healing to occur.

If that describes you, this is the right place.
